Today I woke up very early to take the ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg. The night was not too bad. Not very quiet as expected staying on the terminal parking, but I slept anyhow. Check-in and boarding was easy. Once I was on the ship, I decided to get a cabin to get a little bit of rest. Even though I couldn’t fall asleep, it was the right choice. I had lunch onboard while watching the Swedish coast coming into sight.
Arriving in Trelleborg on time my first stop was the supermarket to get some groceries. What would I do withou ICA Maxi here? Much to my delight one particular item was just in the right size to fit my freezer in the camper. So, I will be able to prepare a delicious (but very simple) dinner in a few days… (Warning: blog entry with food might follow)
While I am typing this short blog entry, the sun is setting shining a bright orange glow across the horizon. I had chosen Limham small boats harbour for the first night. As the dedicated campervan places were surrounded by construction, the harbour master told me to park elsewhere. So here I am, overlooking the harbour, the Öresundsbron and across the sound even Denmark. What a perfect first place to find. I was enjoying the view, warming up in the sun (inside, it’s still very cold outside and supposingly going to be below freezing over night) – and just had a relaxing afternoon.
Tomorrow, I will be taking the bus into Malmö. Until then, just a few snapshots from this afternoon and my view out of the camper.
