Lofoten Moskenes

Today (July 14 as this didn’t upload last night) was a long day. I arrived in the middle of the night and had to find a spot to park my camper for the rest of the night. Of course, the islands are crowded this time of year. I drove down to Å, the last/first village reachable by road on the Lofoten islands. Even though the parking lot was quite crowded, I was lucky enough to find a spot. It was about 3.15 when I had parked up and I then had to let Ronja out for quick pit stop before going to bed. The night was short. I woke up at 7.00 and again at 8.00. As you are not supposed to park there for more than six hours, I didn’t want to push it. I still went for a first very short walk towards the sea with Ronja in the morning.

Afterwards I drove back to Moskenes Camping and was lucky enough to get a spot for two nights. They even let me on the site at once. So Ronja and I settled in. The early morning rain had not lasted long and with the sun coming out it got quite warm. As my new awning was out it spent a tiny bit of shade, but due to the movement of the sun, this was only short-lived. Ronja chose to look for shade under the camper…

After lunch we decided to got for a short walk. Well, I decided and took Ronja with me. The hike marked “easy” on Komoot was in fact a steep climb on a narrow rocky path. I will at one point ask the ones in charge at Komoot how they are choosing their classifications. Reaching the top we were presented with a phenomenal view. Unfortunately, the Moskenes vattnet is drinking water, and therefore Ronja had to cool her paws in a pool of water in a rock formation rather than there. I will still find a different hike tomorrow…

As I am sitting writing this entry with a view over the water, the wind is picking up and clouds are gathering over the mountain tops. Ronja was already reluctant to go for an afternoon walk, but I’ll just lead her on a short walk in a little while. Then I am going to turn in early this evening. Trying to get a little more sleep tonight.
